Naturally Shock Absorbent
From the moment you walk onto Soft Landing Rubber Mulch ("SLRM"), you will instantly feel the bounce and cushion that "SLRM" provides. It will not become compact, so it keeps its soft composition and texture for years. "SLRM" meets all American Standards Testing Materials requirements. At equal depths, "SLRM" gives more cushion and support than any other substrate product available. Six inches of "SLRM" results in a critical fall height of 11 feet. At the same 6" depth, wood mulch has a critical fall height of 7' and pea gravel has a critical fall height of 5'. Unlike pea gravel (which will freeze into a hard surface at 32ƒ F), "SLRM" will allow your children to use their play system in the winter. Even though residential users are not required to use critical fall heights when determining how much of a substrate to buy, you can easily see how even 2" of "SLRM" will provide a safer surface than other products at the same depth.

Cleaner Than Other Substrate Choices
"SLRM" does not mildew, rot, mold or decompose like wood products do. When it rains, any dust that has formed on "SLRM" will run off the rubber. Unlike wood mulch and pea gravel that quickly decompose or become slimy, with continued use "SLRM" stays clean, allowing your children to play without becoming excessively dirty or messy. A great attribute of "SLRM" is that it drains and dries so quickly, children normally can play 15-30 minutes after it has rained. No more waiting hours or until the next day to use your play system. "SLRM" will not attract animals or insects like wood mulch.
Safer Than Other Substrate Choices
"SLRM" is non-toxic and harmless to the environment. If a child does put some into their mouth, the strong, bitter taste normally causes them to spit it out. If a child does chew "SLRM", the non-abrasive texture is unlikely to cause any type of mouth injury. "SLRM" will not cause slivers, cuts or bruises like wood or gravel substrate products can. Parents often don't realize children will commonly throw mulch when they play. Compared to wood mulch or gravel products, "SLRM" is less likely to cause any type of injury if thrown. As with wood mulch or pea gravel, to prevent any risk of choking, we recommend that parents prevent their children from swallowing "SLRM".
Appearance
You will be amazed how realistic "SLRM" looks. The unique manufacturing process used to make "SLRM" gives it the look of a natural wood mulch product, without all the negative characteristics of wood mulch. Many professional landscapers actually buy "SLRM" instead of wood mulch. Using "SLRM" to finish your play system will not only make your play area safer, but will give it a clean, professional look.
Ease of Use
"SLRM" is extremely easy to transport and spread. Since "SLRM" is sold in bags, you don't need a special truck to bring it home like bulk mulch products. Since "SLRM" is inorganic, it can be placed over your existing yard. Landscape fabric is recommended for customers who want their grass to die quickly and to insure that weeds won't continue to grow. Spreading the product doesn't require any special tools and can be done by one person. "SLRM" is so easy to bring home and spread, this is just another reason it's the best choice for your play system and family.
Cost Effective
Though "SLRM" may seem more expensive than other substrate choices, it will not compact, decompose or pulverize, so a one time application will last for years. Wood mulch products decompose yearly, so they need to be replenished 33% to 50% annually. When you compare the cost, labor and mess of buying mulch yearly, versus buying "SLRM" once, you'll find "SLRM" is very economical.
